Jack
Cafferty (October 1st, 2007)
This was a rare opportunity to see Cafferty actually
having an engaging conversation since most of the time it seems as if
he ranting is all by himself on CNN's "The Situation Room". Jon
suggests Wolf Blitzer age is to blame for being "slow" (in fact, he is
younger than Cafferty), since he
apparently ignores or simply does not understand Cafferty's anger and
complains. Yet, other
alternative was suggested by Jon: Blitzer and the others at CNN are
afraid of what Cafferty might say on the air so they just move on and
prettend that he didn't say anything. As a matter of fact,
Cafferty recalls that he was once told to apologize to Donald Rumsfeld
for calling him a "war criminal".
Some highlights:
-Jon: "This is why I like watching Cafferty on the news: unlike
much of the news you don't know what is going to happen or what angle
you are going to take, it does not seem rote, scripted... it seems
truly from the heart and I admire that."
-Cafferty: "Thank you. Most of the time it is. How can you not have a
lot of material to work with to keep your eye on the clowns on
Washington DC?"
-Jon:"I have become aware of that recently".
